WHAT DO WE DO?
We consist of a group of parents who meet on a regular basis to discuss ideas and plan events. We are the fundraising committee for the school. We have great backing from all Teaching Staff.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
We have a yearly schedule of events that include supporting the Christmas performance with refreshments and a fantastic raffle; Easter Disco; Sports Day refreshments; Summer party. We are always looking for new ideas for raising money whilst adding a social element to school life.
WHERE HAVE WE INVESTED THE FUNDS?
We support the school by funding transport to educational visits, pantomime and the school activity holiday; providing a class fund for each class to use to enhance learning. In 2022-23 we plan to invest our funds in furnishing the new outdoor classroom and providing books and resources for the new school library.
WHEN DOES FUNDRAISING ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS?
Wenhaston Primary School is a great place for your children's primary years. Friends of Wenhaston simply want to enhance their primary school experience by giving them those extra special resources and memories.
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
For the bigger events we need a small army of people to help out with stalls and setting up etc. However, we appreciate that time is precious, especially when trying to manage family and work life. If you can’t bake cakes but can donate raffle prizes then that’s brilliant. If you join the committee but can’t make all the meetings then that’s no problem.
We have Class Reps who lead What’s App groups that we use to send reminders about school activities, these are also a great way to get to know other parents in your child’s class.
